The college is closely aligned with national demand and aims to be at the forefront of disciplines by promoting interdisciplinary and multi-field collaboration. The research carried out at the college focuses on efficient utilization of biomass materials, efficient transformation of forestry biomass, bionic and intelligent responses of wood-based materials, coordinated development of multidisciplinary research directions, increasing the level of research in the field of biomaterials science and technology, and increasing the college's scientific research capacity. Since 2010, the college has been awarded three National Science and Technology Progress Awards and eight first-class Provincial Science and Technology Awards.
